I am a scientist, educator, and community-centered program leader working at the intersection of biodiversity science, STEM learning, and public engagement.
My path has taken me from studying fishes and biodiversity to designing educational experiences, mentoring students, facilitating collaborative learning spaces, and building communities that support people in science. While these areas may appear distinct, they are connected by a shared question: How do we help people access, navigate, and thrive within STEM spaces?
My path has taken me from studying fishes and biodiversity to designing educational experiences, mentoring students, facilitating collaborative learning spaces, and building communities that support people in science. While these areas may appear distinct, they are connected by a shared question: How do we help people access, navigate, and thrive within STEM spaces?
My work spans research, curriculum development, mentorship, facilitation, and community building across universities, museums, nonprofits, and national STEM networks. Whether designing field-based learning experiences, mentoring students and early-career professionals, facilitating collaborative learning communities, or building initiatives that foster belonging in science, I am interested in helping people connect more deeply with both science and one another.
I believe meaningful learning and professional growth happen when people are able to bring their whole selves into the spaces they inhabit. As a result, my work is grounded not only in education and community-building, but also in creating environments that support reflection, wellness, care, and sustainable engagement. I am particularly interested in structures that help people navigate STEM pathways while remaining connected to their values, identities, and well-being.
My background includes ichthyology, biodiversity research, museum collections, science education, and organizational leadership. Across these spaces, I work to create meaningful pathways into STEM through research, teaching, mentorship, and community-centered programming.
